In My Mailbox (10)

What is "In My Mailbox"?In My Mailbox is a weekly meme. What is a meme, you ask. The simple description is  "an idea that spreads quickly." Usually the creator of the meme asks for other people to participate and ultimately link back to the person that started the meme. Memes shouldn't be confused with "features." There are some features that are somewhat exclusive to certain blogs, be courteous and don't steal content.

The idea of In My Mailbox is to bring books to the attention of our blog readers and to encourage interaction with other blogs.  Here's what I got this week, how about you? And  while your commenting, won't you be a follower too? Here's what I got  this week:

Follow Friday/ Blog Hop

Carmel is studying web design... What did you study in college, or are currently studying and did it lead to your current 9 to 5 or are you doing something totally different?

No college for me. I went straight into my job after high school.

"What do you consider the most important in a story: the plot or the characters?"
I'll have to go with the plot on this one. I just got done with a book and the characters where awesome, but I didn't care for the plot.

Review: Lessons From a Dead Girl

Lessons From a Dead Girl
by Jo Knowles

Friends Forever. That's what Leah said.
Leah Greene, Laine's best friend, is dead. Even though she has wished for this, because of all those things Leah made her do- Laine still feels somehow responsible. All those times in the closet. Those times that Leah said they were just practicing. Everybody wanted to be friends with Leah though, and Laine was just plain and simple, so what was so special about her? Why did Leah pick her? And why couldn't Laine just tell Leah to stop? Once Laine does make new friends, Leah returns for even more lessons. Why couldn't she just leave her alone? Laine must figure out the truth behind Leah's actions and that it's ok to trust other friends, they aren't all like Leah.

I give this book 3 out of 5 stars.

215 pages. First published in 2007 by Candlewick Press. Paperback edition 2009. Purchased through Amazon
