"Since Thanksgiving is coming up next week, let's use this week's Hop to share what we are most thankful for and what our holiday traditions are!"
My Answer: I would definitely have to say my family as well as all our friends at our church!  I wouldn't know what to do without them! Ever year we go to my aunts house for Thanksgiving for my side of the family. Since the past two years, we come home a little early, and I make a Thanksgiving dinner for my husbands family at our house too! Yummy!

Review: Promise Not to Tell

Promise Not to Tell
By
Jennifer McMahon

I think we all remember being in our early teens, having those certain ghost stories we always used to tell. That's just part of being a kid. We all did it. Just like we all had those certain kids in school that everyone picked on. Once you grow up, there's certain things you miss, and there's certain things you regret.

Over thirty years ago, when Kate was just a kid and new to town, an outsider, not fitting in, made freinds with Del. Del was a dirty child, living with her father and brothers, wearing the same clothes everyday and never showering. They lived on a farm selling what they raised and grew. Del was known as "The Potato Girl". Del shared secrets with Kate that nobody else knew. The fact that Kate and Del were best friends was a secret as well. On June 16th 1971, Del Griswold "The Potato Girl" was brutally murdered and her killer was never found.

Now Kate is divorced, and has to come home to take care of her mother who has dementia, Alzheimers. The first night back, there is another murder and it's almost identical to Dell's, except now, some of the town is starting to speculate that The Potato Girl has came back from the dead. Kate can't possibly believe it's Del, The Potato Girl coming back for revenge, but things start appearing before Kate, Del's things. What makes things even harder is that Kates mom seems to be causing more problems than ever, and talking more nonsense. Now, Del's brother Nicky shows up with his wild ideas. It doesn't help that Kate's always had a crush on him either. More and more things seem to be going wrong, but what Kate doesn't know is that it's leading to the truth. As soon as you think you have all the answers figured out, things change, then they change again.  With a suprise ending I know I sure didn't expect, I definitely enjoyed this book. This is one that once you start, you can't put down!

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars. 250 pages. Purchased at Amazon

Tithe Review

Tithe by Holly Black
Wouldn't you love to be a faerie? Tell me, doesn't the idea of a teensie little, beautiful, winged, creature just fascinate you? It's not all beauty and flowers and rainbows though. There's a whole world we know nothing about, and niether did Kaye. You see, Kaye was born and traded at birth with a human child. Kaye is a pixie faerie. (There are many different types.) She has been raised as a human all this time and not even her mother or grandmother knew the truth. As a child, Kaye would always have faeries come to visit her to talk and play. She would tell her mother and friends but nobody believed her. As she got older, they stopped showing themselves but still watched over her. Late one night after an arguement with a friend, she runs into a very handsome knight in dispair. Kaye, being the nice girl, helps and in return, the knight shares his name with her. (Faeries NEVER do this) Roiben happens to be a 'dangerous' faerie. He's in The Unseelie Court and even though Kaye doesn't know it, her friends belong to the Seelie court. She's warned from her faerie friends to stay away from him. He's dangerous and evil. He's the best knight the Unseelie Court has! But Kaye is fascinated by him, he even finds her himself and tells her to stay away. But against their better judgement, she brings her human friend Corny, along for the ride to capture Roibens heart. When the truth is, Roiben told her to stay away because he knew she was different, and felt that. He knew there was something there too.

"If you find a book that looks interesting but is part of a series, do you always start with the first title?"

My Answer: No way can you start in the middle! You HAVE to start with the first title to completely understand everything. Thats the whole point of a series. If I were an author, I would feel insulted if someone only read in the middle, because they wouldn't fully understand what I was trying to say in my story.
